About
Lid Keeper keeps a MacBook awake through closed-lid sessions while monitoring battery, thermal pressure, power events, and process heartbeats. An independent watchdog returns the Mac to normal sleep and Apple fan control if its components fail. It works locally without an account or analytics.
The current community release is built from source on macOS 13 or newer and is not Developer ID signed or notarized. Closed-lid wakefulness outside Apple’s documented closed-display setup is not Apple-supported, so users should follow the project’s ventilation and safety guidance.
What it does

- 2Monitors battery, thermal pressure, lid and power events, and process heartbeats.
- 3Uses an independent watchdog to restore normal lid sleep and Apple fan control after failure.
- 4Runs locally with no account, analytics, advertising, network client, or automatic updater.
